five minutes ago i was on the phone with my long lost buff joker teacher, mr. joseph wong.

apparently he’s going to be in hong kong for the next three days to… err… mark exam scripts?! that’s weird. apparently he claims he tries to ‘run away’ from singapore when he needs to mark papers because this way he can mark them faster. in a hotel.

hmm… okay.

in other news, why didnt anyone tell me mr. wong ping loong is now teaching TOK in an international school in hong kong? hmph. how i wish he came to my school.

i’ll talk to him about lit stuff.

oh, and he married a rich brunei girl.  i detected a hint of jealousy in joseph wong’s voice when he mentioned that.

the fireworks yesterday was brilliant. it was fun laughing at those who did not make reservations for outdoor seats at one fullerton. i’ll upload the photos after i edit them a little.

visiting acs has always been a bittersweet experience. even though i’ve only been back twice after i left, each time i just feel awkward walking out past the school gates, like i’ve left a part of me behind. it’s weird going back, having to dodge teachers whom i didn’t get an opportunity to say goodbye to for the fear of them bombarding me with questions, having to go crazy in class for 2 hours and regretting that i didn’t quite cherish the time when i was still in the school, talking to friends like i’ve never left at all despite losing touch for months, and most of all, spending those moments as though i can continue to return whenever i want to. well unfortunately, it just got to me that i’d never get a chance to live through that again. the next time i’m back, school will have ended and all these friends will probably be killing enjoying themselves in the army. i’ll miss acs and i’ll miss the people there. maybe sometime later someone should arrange a reunion. and bring along several roller chairs. and volleyballs.

i don’t know why, but i made a promise to go back again someday. that’s why i didn’t collect my leaving cert. i don’t think i would have got it if i asked for it anyway. it’s probably camouflaged with the carpet under a pile of dust.

sometime ago i went down to raffles place to catch some of the national day fireworks. too bad for me, half the time i was walking to find a spot with a good view. when i did find one, the show was almost over. a streetlight, a sloped pillar, a palm tree and the crowd in front of me basically ruined any chances of snapping nice shots. nevermind, i’ll be back at one fullerton for dinner on friday for the fireworks show.

parry hotter was a boring movie. the overall atmosphere influenced by the dark scenes, british accent and emma watson who increasingly looks like a man indicate that despite having purchased tickets to watch the film, the opportunity cost of spending the time in the cinema getting cozy with your partner remains horribly low.

i wouldn’t be so dumb as to transform into a police car. not even a f-22 raptor.

i’d be an aircraft carrier.

fully transformed, i’d be as tall as the empire state building.

attached to my right arm would be the usual arsenal of weapons. several nukes and maybe a few kamikaze aircraft in addition to tons of bombs.

i want my left arm to be a little different though. i want it to be a big fly swapper.

why? it’s to smack those little irritants such as megatron and starscream.

went fishing with dexter on friday. caught 3 fishes, gave him one.

then we played ‘guess which car would smash the prawn on the road’ game.

unfortunately, we only had one to play with and it got pulverized by the tenth car.

have you ever come across those funny coded pictures which supposedly show some random alphabets that pop out to make you prove you’re older than 7 years old or something? the hidden answer is usually something like DHG4CV or KFHB8G. verifying that you’re of adequate intellect, eh? it struck me as a pretty cool concept when i first saw it. and then it got pretty irritating when i started to see it everywhere. worse still, some of those images are made up of such an outlandish combination of colours that i’d much rather close the browser than to bother straining my eyes for the sake of reading senseless rubbish. i seriously doubt its success at keeping toddlers away from their ulterior aims of global domination through creating so many email accounts that the internet jams up and… and dies. actually, it’s been relatively effective at keeping me off sites which contain those hideous stuff. what the heck, i’m friggin’ 18 and i get those codes wrong more often than i get them right.

eh, i’m stuck in NFS: Carbon. something went wrong in my HK$20 DVD i think. that corrupt part causes my car to fall into an abyss when i’m clearly on the highway. following that a pop-up created by one of Bill Gates’ henchmen will offer to send my problems to the microsoft office which will then do nothing about them. maybe they’d even call the cops. therefore, i’m stuck at 64% mark of career completion.

went fishing yesterday. caught 4 fishes. yay.

actually a few days back i went to jurong with good ol’ buddy dexter to take a look around. and for some reason we decided to fish for prawns. at the end of the day i brought home 4 even though i caught 7 because the prawns in the pond were so damn small and the holes of the net used to keep them were so damn big. guess the small ones just conveniently escaped. what a rip-off.

speaking of which, i think the recent hype about the pasir ris pond owner breeding mosquitoes is pretty bullshit. NEA just needed someone to be the scapegoat for anti-dengue propaganda. and NEA has a history of opposing fishing. heh.

i promised myself i’d do some work today. i’ll start with a bit of econs IA. then maybe i’ll have more time to work on fulfilling today’s 13 hour sleep requirement.

i like my bed. i really do. it’s not particularly soft neither is it extra hard. it’s not very comfortable, to be honest. but still, i miss my bed. and i like it. i hong kong, my bed never really feels clean. maybe because i change bedsheets only when i remember to do it. i changed the sheets less than 10 times over the past year.

i can foresee the future, i swear. something’s telling me – from the back of my head, from the soles of my feet and even from my underpants -  that this vacation is going to be like any other vacation i’ve had. during the first week, i’ll tell myself the vacation had just begun and so i can afford to while away some time, attach myself to the bed for 12 hours a day or so and leave my room in a mess. when week 2 comes, i’ll say ‘oh #$%^’ to myself every morning, tell myself to get started with the homework. there actually isn’t that much homework if i do a little a day, right? of course! with this in mind, i’ll steer myself towards the road of endless procrastination. okay maybe i’ll get started on EE and a little of TOK. perhaps history IA as well if i’ve got the time and patience. when the last week arrives, my ‘to-do’ list will have expanded two or three times in size while the time for completing all of them will have decreased by three or four times. the last 3 days will be hectic, to say the least. clothes won’t be washed or ironed, the luggage won’t be unpacked, and i’ll be downing red bulls by the carton to treasure every last second before the mad school days begin all over again. on the first day of school, i’ll forget to bring some books, i’ll be thinking of excuses to give for not handing up homework on time and i’ll feel somewhat regretful. that’s if i wake up on time. my first day of absence will probably be the first day of school.

heck, i’m still on the first week of the holidays. plenty of time left for fun, sleeping and stoning.

my dad is both style-blind and colour-blind. i came home with dyed hair, a haircut and a lil’ different hairdo. he told me i needed to cut my hair. i expected some display of opposition to my brownish hair, but i don’t think he ever realized it’s no longer jet black.
